A cooperative preschool is a parent-run preschool, in which the school’s member-families offer classroom support, in addition to taking on a family job that contributes toward the school’s day-to-day operations.
Teacher Merry Enriquez has been leading classes at Brooklyn Preschool for over 10 years! Before that she was a parent-teacher in our Brooklyn classrooms, when her two daughters were in preschool. She even attended a cooperative preschool in North Portland herself, as a child.
Age-eligible students can enroll at Brooklyn Preschool any time we have an opening in one of our classes. Potential students can also pre-enroll for the upcoming school year, after our Annual Open House takes place in February.
Brooklyn Preschool’s nursery program benefits our members with babies and toddlers. Siblings of Brooklyn students who are not yet age-eligible for preschool can go to our on-site nursery during their family’s parent-teaching shifts. Read more →
